The route begins at Lafrowda Flats

The route begins at Lafrowda Flats and from a starting point at the top of the steps behind Veryan House one can take in the panoramic view of the teaching and administrative buildings, dominated by the tower block of the Physics Building standing high on the skyline.

At the foot of the steps the path forks to the right passing a copse consisting largely of Birch trees grown from seeds obtained from America and Russia.
