Following the path downhill

Following the path downhill one emerges at the foot of Stocker Road by the junction with Rennes Drive. Opposite the bed of thyme surrounding the road nameplate, the footpath leads back towards Cornwall House, past the sentinel-like Lombardy Poplars (Populus nigra italica, introduced into England in 1758) on one side and the broad leafed Bean trees (Catalpa ovata, a Chinese species introduced into England in 1849) on the other.
