School Disability Liaison Officers

Every academic school has a named point of contact, with whom it can be helpful to liaise. One of their roles, for instance, is 'to maintain an accurate register of disabled students'.

A list of officers is maintained on the 'Staff' page of the DRC web site - see web link below.

Occupational Health Service

First point of contact for staff with a disability.

Emergencies

Dealing with, say, a very distressed student out of normal working hours can be a challenge. If you feel you need some backup, the Estate Patrol can be very helpful. They can, for instance, put you or the student in contact with the duty chaplain, or, if you feel physically vulnerable, come to support you. Their phone number is ext. 3999.

If you are dealing with first year students in residence, there is a list of resident tutors, who may be able to help - see web link below.
