New Structure for Procurement Services Procurement Services has restructured to form 2 teams. New Team Member Dave Burchill joined Procurement Services in December from the Meteological Office. For more info, see our A-Z entry. ____________________________ **New Supplier Web form** For any new supplier requests this new web form must now be used. It remains one of our ambitions in the Procurement Team to produce a clear and comprehensive guidance manual to support procurement activity across the University. Your suggestions (for inclusion, amendments) and your general feedback will be much appreciated as the manual will be refined and supplemented to reflect your input. ____________________________ Exeter Procurement Group Presentations from last meeting held Friday 24th September 2010 ____________________________ Reverse Auction A reverse auction on 13 June saved 53% (per year) on the cost of Pest Control services. In this type of competition, suppliers compete against each other on-line for the contract. Their bids become increasingly lower, eventually resulting in the winning price. Procurement Services and Property Services will be conducting more of these auctions. ____________________________ Electron Beam Lithography System David Anderson of EMPS and Bob Valentine of Procurement Services worked together to procure an 'E-Beam' system. Their work to develop a robust spec and to invite competition saved £255k against the system initially contemplated. The money saved allowed David to procure an 'evaporator' that will improve the quality and speed of his research. ____________________________ Green Impact
