It only take a few minutes to register and create your free account with this website and log details of ALL YOUR valuable property for future reference and to assist the University security and the police to recover and return your property to you should it be lost or stolen.

Most crime happens to property, not people and are often 'spur of the moment' actions in response to an open window or valuables left on display so follow the following tips to help prevent crime. Further tips are available in our Crime Prevention Presentation

Common Sense Tips

Close and lock doors and windows, and close curtains before leaving home
Make sure your halls of residence main entrance doors close behind you and do not let other people in with you.
Don't leave valuables on show
Never leave keys in the lock
When out in the evening leave a light on (the bathroom is a good one)

Bike Tips

Get a good bike lock
Lock your bike to something secure

Personal Safety

Try to be inconspicuous about the valuables you carry - eg mobile, jewellery
Stick to bright, well lit and busy areas
Only use legitimate taxis
Avoid short cuts and isolated areas.
